Team and requirements
Recruit the core engineers, select the first workload, define the mission and obtain supplier and test quotes.
Company / Our mission
Asterwatt’s long-term goal is to design, mass-produce and operate orbital AI data centers for frontier AI labs and hyperscalers.
01The company we’re building
We want to build an infrastructure company with repeatable hardware, dependable operations and a clear cost per unit of useful compute.
The first task is a credible module and a measurable experiment. Manufacturing at scale and operating a fleet come after the technical and commercial case is proven.

Years in critical IT operations
My starting point was mechanical and electromechanical engineering. I then built a career running and supporting critical IT systems in financial markets.
Asterwatt brings those interests together: physical systems, computing infrastructure and reliable operations.
Mechanical baccalaureate and an electromechanics diploma in industrial engineering and maintenance.
Critical financial-market systems, incident response, Linux, SQL and support across time zones.
The next step is to build a specialist team across spacecraft systems, thermal engineering and AI infrastructure.
03Proposed development roadmap
An initial 18-month planning framework, starting after funding. The first flight depends on readiness, approvals, partners and launch availability.
Recruit the core engineers, select the first workload, define the mission and obtain supplier and test quotes.
Integrate compute, power and cooling. Test the design and refine the mass, thermal and communications budgets.
Complete the required tests and prepare a first flight experiment, subject to technical readiness and mission constraints.
Use test results to improve the module, validate customer demand and prepare repeatable production.
Planning milestones, not committed launch dates. Fleet deployment would require further validation and capital.
04The first team
Mission design, power systems, radiators, structural integration and qualification.
Control systems, fault recovery, radiation mitigation and safe operation.
Inference workloads, performance measurement, secure data handling and ground operations.
Priority capabilities for the founding team. Hiring is planned as funding and requirements are confirmed.
